wines of the world
Wine for beginners?

Over the past 5 years or so I have come to know and love a decent varities of beer and liqour, yet the wine world to me is very unknown. What is a decent and fairly cheap wine to start out with?

As a beginner most start with a white zin. Its got a flavor most novice tasters like.
If you start a red, I would say a nice shiraz is a good starter
Most people graduate to the cabernet, not too many people like it as a first.
You may even go for a fruit wine (arbor mist)

Usually you cant go wrong with a Mondavi,Yellow Tail, or Lindemans. Black Swan is a hit or miss

The best advice is follow your taste!
Even though (recommended) wine pairings in general will provide a good taste accompaniment, your personal taste should always prevail
