Best way to go Temecula Wine Tasting with 5 friends without doing an organized tour?

I am going to Temecula with some friends on a Saturday and have “hired” on of our younger brother to drive us , as our DD. So, we don’t need to use a touring service, but wondering the best way to do it on our own. or if you’d advise to use one of the touring services instead? Thanks!
