Are we to beleive God was wrong? And who are we to supercede Gods will ?

One problem is that some people are against anything pleasurable. Another problem is that the growing of hemp threats the timber industry, cotton growers, drug companies, alcoholic beverage companies, and probably others.

Victimless crimes, such as sale and use of drugs like marijuana, support the prison-industrial complex, allow police to confiscate money and property, banks to launder drug money, and politicians to line their pockets.

Prohibition of alcohol required a constitutional amendment. It proved such a disaster that there was another constitutional amendment to repeal prohibition. Alcohol prohibition was responsible for the growth of organized crime, just as anti-drug laws are today.
