February for Valentines Month

February is Valentines Month.  Think of Someone You Love or Care about.  Do you want to show your appreciation.  Should you take them some place special,  Or buy them something they have always wanted.   Why not do both.  First where do you go?  Do you both Love the Outdoors? Do you want to site see?  Here we are in the Great America, so many things to see, where it takes a lot to see everything in America.  I’ve know people who live in Arizona who have not even been to the Grand Canyon yet.  It should be so easy.  Pack a tent, a sleeping bag, some snacks and away you go.   There are a lot of camping spots along the way.  There is a romantic thing to do is on a weekend walk or getaway, pick up a smooth stone and say that you’re going to keep it as a special memento of your trip.  Later have a message such as “I Love Jane” engraved into the stone by a jeweler and give it to your partner.   While you are in the great outdoors.  After a day of hiking, build an open fire.  Sit by the fire with your partner, toast marshmallows and watch as the embers of the fire climb into the night sky.  Even if you don’t want to travel, spend some time out on your patio.  Decorate the table and plan a romantic Patio dinner, especially when the sun is going down.    You can light a candle or have a soft solar light nearby.

Have you ever thought about surprising someone with a pet, So many Dogs and Cats need homes and lots of love.  They give all kinds of Love, and you always have someone to come home to.  Next time you’re sitting on your Porch you can think about getting healthier to enjoy more days and nights with your loved ones. Gaze out into the sky, find the Big Dipper and take a deep breath.  Put your feet up on your Patio Furniture, tip your head back, grab your Loved ones hand, cherish the night.  So cheap and memorable.

Great Ideas from others are Invite your partner to go for a walk. Get a backpack and pack the following items.  A picnic blanket, a selection of fruit in small containers like strawberries, grapes, watermelon and Bing Cherries.  Some crackers and cheese.   Some sandwiches.  A half bottle of champagne and two plastic champagne glasses.  If you’re not into champagne much, bring some orange juice, mix it with the champagne.   If your partner asks what’s in the backpack, just say a jacket and some lunch.   When you find a romantic spot, ask if she or he would like to stop for a bite to eat.  Open your pack and remove the items one by one to set up your picnic.  The last item you remove should be the glasses and champagne.

For Valentine’s day,  buy your partner something special with fourteen things on it.  If she’s a she or he, A charm bracelet with at least 14 charms, or maybe something a little more their style.  If that’s not your thing, Surprise your mate with a warm bubble bath, lighted candles, soft music, and a bottle of wine, or reserve a nice romantic evening at a local hotel to include a wonderful candlelit dinner, fine wine, and a beautiful room.

I surprised my mate with a special night out with a limousine while we were visiting in Portland Oregon.  I had the Limo pick us up at the Hotel, Take us to dinner, and around the town, to all the different Pubs.  Door to door Service the whole time, while waiting for us.  It’s something I think we both will remember always, and we still laugh at some of the silly things we did and said.

My mate bought me a pair of hiking boots for Christmas,  and I Appreciate that more than a lot of other things, along with that, We got a quiet night with Fireplace.  A bottle of wine, and some beer. I couldn’t ask for much else. You do not have to be a world-renowned artist to make something homemade and special for the love of your life.  Even making a special personalized greeting card would be appreciated and show your mate that you care enough to take the time needed to make something by hand.

For couples where the Mother or Father stays home and takes care of the children all day long, show your appreciation for the hard work.  Hire a baby sitter for about 4 hours and give your mate a gift certificate to a local spa where they can enjoy a relaxing massage, mineral springs, sauna, mud wrap, or whatever special treatments are available.

Last Be Creative. The words “I Love You” are always welcomed but why not add some creativity to the way you tell them.  Rent a billboard  where you know they drive everyday that clearly says ” I Love You”.  Also request a radio station play a special song and message on their way to work.
