Ladies is this a red flag?

I went to my new boyfriends place for the first time (he’s 46, I’m 30). he had SOOOO many alcohol bottles on his counter – from wine to hard liquor. I supppose they were on his counter because he dosn’t have much cabinet space, but I just couldn’t get over how packed it was of alcohol. He says he drinks and gets sort of drunk approx. 3 times a month. I said “Wow” he said “that isn’t a lot….10 years ago I drank much more.

I don’t know if 3 times is considered a lot? And how would you feel about the alcohol on his counter top? His place was an absolute mess. But he recently moved and his new place is much smaller than what he is used to and I don’t think he has any closets.

getting drunk three times a month, means that he gets sloshed almost every weekend. he was probably minimizing it too, since you’re his new girlfriend and doesn’t want to give a bad impression.

personally, i would steer clear of a man who unashamedly admits to getting drunk on a regular basis. I’d want a man who’s reliable, and not so dependent on alcohol. for obvious reasons.

he’s 46, but his place is tiny and messy. you’d think that a person at that age would at least own a decent home and have his life sorted out.

I say he’s trouble. but don’t follow my opinion…follow your instincts. you seem to be having doubts about this person already. think about your relationship. are you settling for second best? maybe you can do much better. you deserve a good guy..
