ice wine german
Ice wine, anyone? Canadian vs. German, which do you prefer?

I prefer German Eiswein but have had some good Canadian ones. My favourite for value and taste is Dr. Thanisch. If you don’t care how much something costs, then by all means grab the Meuller-Katoire. Now that’s heaven on earth!!!
that’s Muller-Catoire – sorry!

The South Okanagan Valley is at the same latitude as the Rhineland, and thus has the same light etc. The climate is somewhat similar to Germany, albeit hotter in summer and colder in winter. This can produce sweeter wines. However, unlike other places in Canada, and certainly the States, the Okanagan produces wine from vinifera vines, rather than hybrids. That is, the wine comes from exactly the same kind of vines, grown in very similar circumstances.

And, they are making some awesome ice wine! It is not always cold enough, but when it is, yummy!

So, if you can get BC ice wine, do try them. I should think they would rival the German ones, and Okanagan wines are generally better than Ontario ones as well.

The James Bond Collection

$39.95

The exploits of Ian Fleming’s British super-agent James Bond have long since become the longest running film series in history, spanning 40 years and counting. Not the least of the cycle’s charm has been its music, a body of work that encompasses pop clichés (the twangy guitar of Monty Norman’s original “James Bond Theme”) and elegant underscores alike. While this collection spans music from Dr. …
