Are there any dangers in homemade wine…..?

I saw a couple of videos and pages on the web and made my own.I let it at room temperature to ferment with the yeast doing its job for about a week and a half and I racked it into a gallon of water container and put it in the fridge yesterday.It smells sort of weird and tastes funny but it has a very strong alcohol scent/taste.I was wondering if its bad to drink it even though it tastes kinda funny.Could it cause kidney failure,heart attack,blindness,stroke,etc,etc??…
btw I made it out of welchs grape juice(concentrate).from the store.

Yes and no. If you use bakers’ yeast, it won’t be dangerous but it will taste “off” and no amount of aging will improve it. On the other hand, if you get contamination from fecal bacteria, you could be figuratively chained to the toilet for a couple of days; bacteria can multiply along with the yeasts. As far as using Welch’s goes, the best thing that can be said is that it will be relatively bacteria-free; just be sure to sanitize your equipment properly.
