Is $120 to bartend a private party asking too much?

They wanted me to bartend mixed drinks, beer and wine for at least 4 hours. I told them I’d normally ask for $150, but cut it to $120. I’d be the only bartender for a party of 50+. She would provide all the alcohol and drinks, but I said I’d brink my bar tools.

The girl decided not to, and said she spent a lot of money already.

Was I out of line? The only way I know her is she is my boyfriend’s sister’s friend.

NO NO NO! 150.00 was a deal and you cut her a break. People do NOT realize what it takes to tend bar. Oh and in my state (WA) the bartender is just as responsible as the homeowner or bar owner if there is any bad results (such as an accident) so its not always how much. You know what your time is worth so I would not worry about someone that could NOT afford you. Happy tending
